Find records missing from a source

When a supplier sends a complete list, or a Shopify scan covers the whole store, Biosphere can list the records it saw from that source before that are now missing. The list is for you to review. Nothing is deleted or archived.

Confirm a complete export

Confirm only when the file holds every current record of that kind from this source. A filtered export, or a file with only recent changes, is incomplete.

  1. Open the source in Inbox and make sure From shows who issued it.
  2. Open Complete snapshot coverage at the top of the review.
  3. In How was completeness verified?, describe how you know, such as “Full product export from the Alder Supply portal, all categories”.
  4. Select Confirm complete export.

Once every record in the file is mapped, Biosphere compares its IDs with the ones it saw from this source before. Until then, the coverage reads “Complete arrival retained. Map every record to compare it with earlier identities.”

Scan a Shopify store

  1. Open Configure, select Sources, then Shopify.
  2. Open Sync details on the store.
  3. Select Check for missing records.

The scan covers the data chosen under Choose data for Sync now. When it finishes and its records are mapped, Biosphere compares them in the same way.

Read the findings

Open Complete snapshot coverage on the source. Findings read, for example, “4 previously seen source records are absent.”, followed by each record’s type and source ID.

A missing record might be discontinued, renamed or left out by mistake. Check with the supplier, then update or archive the record yourself from its own page if it’s really gone.

What to know

  • Only a confirmed complete export or a complete Shopify scan can show missing records. Partial downloads, chosen rows, rows with errors and files from several issuers can’t.
  • After you confirm a complete export for an arrival, its source can’t be changed.
  • Findings never change your records.
