Manage Scout conversations
Every chat with Scout is saved as a conversation you can come back to.
Start a new conversation
Select New chat, the pencil icon at the top of the chat. Your current conversation stays saved.
Open an earlier conversation
- Select the conversation’s title at the top left of the chat. A new chat is titled Scout.
- Choose a conversation from the Conversations list. Select Older chats and Newer chats to move through them, 30 at a time.
A conversation is named after the start of its first message. In the full-screen chat, the page address includes the conversation, so reloading or sharing the link returns to it.
Switch between full screen and floating
- On any page, select the Scout button in the corner to open a floating chat. Select Minimize chat or press Esc to hide it, or select Open full-screen chat to expand it.
- In the full-screen chat, select Open floating chat to go back to the page you came from with the chat still open.
The conversation and any unsent message carry over. While Scout is working, the corner button shows Working.
Stop a response
While Scout is working, the send button becomes a stop button. Select Cancel response to stop it. The conversation then shows Response cancelled.
When a response does not finish
- If Scout runs out of time, the conversation shows Response timed out with a reference. Your message and any attached files are saved. Wait a moment, then send a shorter follow-up in the same conversation. If it keeps happening, select Ask for help and share the reference.
- If Biosphere cannot confirm your message was received, for example because the connection dropped, your draft is kept. Check your connection, then send it again without editing it; Biosphere picks up the same request instead of sending it twice.
Read a long conversation
A conversation with more than 100 messages shows the newest 100. Use Older messages and Latest messages to page through it. When you scroll up, the Latest button jumps back to the newest message.
What to know
- Unsent drafts are saved in this browser, so a reload does not lose them. Signing out removes them.
- Other people in your business cannot open your conversations. The Biosphere support team can read them to help you.
- Conversations cannot be renamed or deleted. Start a new chat for a new topic.
