Inventory
Adjust or correct stock
Post an adjustment when stock changes outside an order, such as breakage or a found case. Post a correction when a count or adjustment was entered wrong. Both keep a reason, and the original entry stays in the history.
Adjust stock at a location
- Open Inventory, then select Levels.
- Select the inventory level, such as Jade coaster at Sampleton Warehouse.
- Select Adjust.
- In Change, enter how much to add or remove in the base unit: -2 for two broken, 12 for a found case of twelve.
- Enter a Reason of at least three characters, such as “Dropped during restock”.
- Select Post adjustment.
You can also open the level from its inventory item: open Inventory items, select the item, then select the location under Locations.
Correct a count or adjustment
- Open the inventory level or its inventory item.
- In Activity, find the count or adjustment and select its time to open the details.
- Select Correct.
- Enter the right quantity. For a count, that is the quantity that should have been counted; for an adjustment, the change that should have been posted.
- Enter a Reason, then select Post correction.
The correction replaces the original at the original’s time, so later balances are recalculated. The original stays in Activity, marked “Corrected by a later entry”.
For example, if a count of 30 should have been 26, correct it to 26.
Undo a fulfillment, receipt or recipe run
Fulfillments, receipts and recipe runs can’t be corrected. Post an adjustment at the same location with a reason that names the order or run, such as “Return of SO-1001 line 1”.
What to know
- Only a level that has been counted can be adjusted; Adjust appears once its on-hand quantity is known. For a new level, record a count instead.
- An adjustment or correction can’t take on-hand stock below zero, including at any later point that a correction’s earlier time affects. Biosphere refuses it with This location has insufficient physical stock for the change.
- Adjustments posted on screen take effect when you post them.
- A movement can be corrected once. To change a correction, correct the correction.
- A count correction can’t be negative.
- Adjustments and corrections never change what sales orders have committed.
