Finding your way

Find your way around Biosphere

The sidebar lists your workflow pages, with Scout and Configure pinned at the bottom. Configure swaps the sidebar for your settings until you go back.

Use the sidebar

  • Your workflow pages are at the top: Inbox, Catalog, Contacts, Inventory, Sales orders, Purchase orders and Knowledge. You see only the ones your business has.
  • Inventory has its own pages: Levels, Inventory items, Summary and Recipes. Select Inventory to open Levels and show its pages. The arrow beside it shows or hides those pages without leaving the page you are on.
  • To keep a page visible while its section is closed, point at it and select the pin icon. Select the pin again to unpin it.
  • Search or ask… at the top opens search. See Search pages and run commands.
  • Your business name at the top opens the company menu. See Use the company menu and change the theme.

Open Configure and go back

  1. Select Configure at the bottom of the sidebar. The sidebar changes to Configure’s pages and General opens.
  2. To go back, select the arrow beside Configure at the top of the sidebar. You return to the page you were on. In search, the same command is Back to app.

Configure lists General, Locations, Sources, AI connections, Background jobs, Audit log and Help. Selecting Sources opens its first page, Files, and shows its other pages beneath it. Agent activity sits beneath AI connections. Locations appears when your business has Catalog, and Background jobs when it has Inbox.

Collapse or resize the sidebar

  • Select Collapse sidebar, the panel icon at the top, or press Cmd-B or Ctrl-B to shrink the sidebar to icons. Select Expand sidebar or press the shortcut again to bring it back. The shortcut does nothing while you are typing in a field.
  • In the collapsed sidebar, point at an icon to see its name. A section such as Inventory opens its pages in a small menu.
  • Drag the sidebar’s right edge to make it wider, from 240 up to 480 pixels. With the edge focused, the Left and Right arrow keys resize it; Enter or a double-click restores the standard width.

Work with lists and details

Selecting a row in a list such as Contacts or Background jobs opens its details on the right. Select Expand to full page to open the record on its own page, or Close details to close it. Drag the left edge of the details to resize them. The page address keeps the open record, so Back, reload and shared links return to it.

Use Biosphere on a phone

On a narrow screen the sidebar becomes a menu. Tap the menu icon at the top left to open it, then tap a page; the menu closes. Tap your business name in the top bar for the company menu, or the search icon for search.

What to know

  • The sidebar’s width, whether it is collapsed, your pins and your theme are saved in this browser only.
  • If you open the address of a page your business does not have, Biosphere takes you to your first page instead.
