Review tax, shipping and test payments
A payable amount is a reviewed snapshot of an order’s priced items, discounts, shipping and tax. Every amount has an explicit currency. An imported reported total alone is not permission to charge a customer.
Review an order total
- Open a native sales order with priced lines and its currency.
- Use Add shipping, Add tax or Add discount as needed. Enter a description and amount for each charge.
- For tax, choose Order items or Shipping charge under Tax applies to.
- Use Review total and check the itemized payable amount before saving.
These are manually entered reviewed amounts. Biosphere does not calculate tax compliance or buy a carrier label. A shipment records physical progress and never adds the order’s shipping charge a second time.
If the order changed while you were reviewing, review the current total again. A saved amount cannot be silently changed under an active or captured payment.
Test Checkout and refunds
For connected accounts and readiness, see Check test-payment configuration.
Online payments currently require a configured Stripe test environment and an authorized connected test account. Choose the intended account when several are available. Do not enter live payment details.
Starting or resuming Checkout keeps its payment tied to the reviewed amount. A return from Checkout does not by itself confirm payment: wait for the saved payment state or reconcile it. An interrupted attempt retains its recovery actions instead of starting an unrelated charge.
For a captured payment, use Refunds and review a full or partial refund with its reason before submitting. A pending or uncertain refund needs its existing retry or reconciliation action; do not assume it failed and send a second refund. Refunding money does not change inventory or undo a physical shipment.
Follow payments across orders
Use Configure → Payments → Overview or History to follow payments across orders.
Record a payment received elsewhere
To record money already received, correct a receipt or void an incorrect entry, see Record a payment received elsewhere.
Merchant onboarding, bank setup, payouts and supplier payments are not available in this release. The current Checkout flow uses Stripe’s sandbox only.
