Review Project financials

Open a Project and select Open project financials, or open Reporting, then Project financials to compare each Project’s revenue, cost and profit. Each Project reports in the business’s single reporting currency, initially USD. Foreign purchases and sales use their saved transaction-date exchange rates. No project appears when some work is not assigned to a Project.

Understand the amounts

  • Revenue ordered uses confirmed sales commitments. Drafts are excluded.
  • Revenue paid uses Checkout and recorded payments less refunds and voids, including order tax and shipping. It shows — when a Project has no revenue. Externally owned payments and orders spanning Projects stay incomplete; a payment for a whole order is never split between Projects.
  • Cost committed uses confirmed purchase commitments, including non-stock lines, allocated to the Project.
  • Cost received uses confirmed stock receipts or non-stock warehouse counts. A partial receipt split across Projects needs an allocation.
  • Other costs contains reviewed freight, installation and similar costs.
  • Committed result subtracts committed cost and other costs from ordered revenue. Margin expresses that difference as a percentage of ordered revenue.
  • Net sales delivered and Cost of goods sold count what has been delivered, recognized on the same event. Delivered gross profit is their difference.

The information button beside a column explains its calculation. Costs are purchase order prices and are provisional until supplier bills are recorded.

Inspect incomplete figures

Select an amount to open its contributing records. Incomplete means the system cannot safely calculate that amount. Missing purchase allocations, missing exchange rates, ambiguous receipt splits and delivery allocations larger than a line remain visible for review. They never become zero cost or a complete margin. Select the review count on a row to open the lines that need attention.

Select the unknown cost count to find delivery items without enough confirmed purchase coverage. Correct their commercial links or purchase commitments, then refresh the report. Search and contributor links survive a reload.

Add or correct another cost

Select Add cost on a Project row. Enter its description, explicit currency, amount, date and reason. Review the values before saving.

To correct a saved cost, open Other costs, then Correct or void. A correction replaces the effective amount; a void removes it from current totals. Both retain the original decision and its reason in history.

Foreign additional costs keep their original amount. Open Other costs, then Review rate to record the cost-date exchange rate. Missing rates keep the dependent result incomplete.
